Dapsadek Consulting is currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable insurance brokerage firm in Lagos for a senior leadership role in reinsurance.

The organisation is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Deputy General Manager – Reinsurance Broking, responsible for leading reinsurance strategy and placements across the business.

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will oversee treaty and facultative reinsurance placements, provide technical expertise in structuring reinsurance programmes, and manage relationships with both local and international reinsurers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage treaty and facultative reinsurance placements

2. Build and maintain relationships with international reinsurers and brokers, including Lloyd’s and African markets

3. Structure and advise on reinsurance programmes for corporate clients

4. Ensure compliance with NAICOM reinsurance regulations and guidelines

5. Supervise and mentor junior team members

6. Prepare technical documentation such as bordereaux, treaty wordings, slips, and reports


Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline

2. Professional certification (ACII or CIIN preferred)

3. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in reinsurance broking or underwriting

4. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

5. In-depth knowledge of international reinsurance markets
