An opportunity is now open at Prudential Zenith Life Insurance for experienced finance professionals within the insurance and financial services sector.

The organization is currently hiring a Finance Payable Officer to manage end-to-end accounts payable operations while ensuring strong financial controls and regulatory compliance.

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing claims payments, vendor settlements, commissions, and statutory deductions, while maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process claims payments in line with approved policies

2. Manage vendor payments and outstanding obligations

3. Prepare and disburse commission payments in accordance with agreed terms

4. Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation for audit purposes

5. Handle administrative and operational expense payments

6. Prepare payment schedules to support effective cash flow management

7. Compute and manage withholding tax deductions and statutory remittances

8. Prepare VAT schedules and ensure timely compliance

9. Perform reconciliations (vendor accounts, bank statements, ledgers)

10. Review payment requests for accuracy and compliance with internal controls

11. Maintain comprehensive records and ensure proper archiving of financial documents

12. Record all approved transactions in the general ledger and sub-ledgers

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounts payable, finance operations, or accounting (financial services experience preferred)

2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

3. Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or CPA) is an added advantage

4. Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, tax compliance, and internal controls

5. Solid knowledge of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
